Town and Country Veterinary Clinic is the only small animal hospital in the New River Valley and Roanoke area that offers the convenience of 24-hour emergency and critical care service.

We have a licensed veterinarian and support staff on site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide quality and compassionate veterinary care for your pet.  Any small animal with fur is welcome to use this service.  Exotics and birds may also be seen on emergency basis; however, if these pets need extensive or specialized care they will be referred to an Exotic Veterinarian in the area.

We understand that your pet is a special member of your family and his or her health emergencies must be addressed as soon as possible. Town & Country Veterinary Clinic's emergency services are a caring extension of your family veterinarian.  Our veterinarians have a special interest in emergency medicine and will insure that your pet receives the highest quality of appropriate and necessary medical treatment. Our staff can handle any pet emergency from a small laceration to a major trauma or emergency surgery.  Round-the-clock monitoring ensures that patients receive all of the required treatments and pain management.

Emergency care can be costly because of the high level facility and professional staff requirements.  We tailor treatment protocols to fit your resources and special needs, providing the optimum course of therapy to fit your pet’s situation.  You are encouraged to discuss any fees and treatment options with our professional staff.

Following emergency or critical care at our facility, we will provide your family veterinarian with medical records and information about your pet’s condition so your veterinarian can provide appropriate follow-up care and treatment.  If your pet is not an established patient at another veterinary facility, our hospital welcomes new clients and patients and would be happy to discuss routine and preventative care with you.

If you are concerned about your pet after routine hours, we recommend you bring your pet into the hospital to be examined by our emergency veterinarians.  The doctors and staff cannot give medical advice over the phone without examining your pet.  If possible, please contact the hospital at 540-382-5042 prior to your arrival so we may prepare for your pet's emergency.  Our entire staff is devoted to providing a caring environment, treating both you and your pets with dignity, kindness, and respect.
